Independent developer Through Games have finally released their very long-awaited, innovative hybrid (Kinect 2 + joypad) puzzle-platformer FRU to download on Xbox Live for Xbox One via the ID@Xbox self-publishing programme, priced at a discounted £8.03 (UK) / €10.04 (EU) / $10.04 (US) for a limited time. (Normal price £11.99 (UK) / €14.99 (EU) / $14.99 (US).) You can watch the launch trailer above.
Unfortunately I’ve been too busy to play FRU and post my first impressions at the moment, but I’ll try to do that next week. I’ve also been unable to find a press release, but I’ll update this article if there is one. In the meantime I’ll just post the following from FRU’s Xbox Games Store page:
FRU is a puzzle platformer that features an innovative use of Kinect, in which your silhouette becomes a “portal” between two worlds.
You will find yourself solving puzzles by strategically positioning your body, combining physical interaction with traditional platforming.
Be precise, be careful, take on a funny pose, but most importantly, be creative with your body! Every level can be solved in multiple ways, with different poses. What sort of creative solutions can you come up with?
Discover the turbulent past of the FRU temple… through the lense of your silhouette!
FRU is already getting amazing reviews, including 9 out of 10s and equivalent! Have you bought it already? If so what do you think of it? Let us know in the comments below or discuss it in our Kinect 2 Games Forum. You can even write your own review in our Kinect 2 Game Reviews Forum.
