i dont understand how you cant get over 37.

When im doing my run (lift knees high is the key, not speed) i acutally hold my left hand out straight like a real javelin thrower and my right hand to my hip(wrist poiting to the cieling). once its time to throw take one last step with my left leg then i throw like a baseball pitcher and at the same time bringing my right foot beside my left to get in the throw stance and freeze with your arm at 45 degrees.

Okay, I'm having trouble understanding this. when you say hold your left hand straight out... are you saying your arm is straight and to the side (left if you're lefthanded, right if you're righthanded)? there's no bend in the elbow? and out to the side like half of the letter "T"?

and how can you have your right hand at your hip but your wrist pointing to the ceiling?

and in terms of throwing like a baseball pitcher? you're taking your straight arm to the side and then moving it up to look like a "Y" and then throwing so your hand is on the other side of your body? because most pitchers do a 3/4 delivery, going from the upper corner to the lower corner. so I don't know how you finish a pitcher's throw with a hitler salute.

It was a big hard to explain so i got an image showing pretty close example on how to do it.

Part 1 the run+stance.
getting up to speed by lifting the knees high run in place. I always start with my right leg beacause by the time i get to the end of the track my last step is always my left leg.
like the image i keep my left arm out this puts tension in your torso muscles and it increases the rotational potential in the torso in the throw("cocking back or wind up"). I keep my right arm with wrist pointing to the cieling a bit lower about at my hip ish to increase the distance my arm travels at the throw.

Part2 the throw:
this is the most important part to get distance. to initiate the throw take one last step forward (yes acutally take a step forward unlike the run thats in one spot)
right as you take that last step forward you combine the forward movement of the step, rotation of the torso and the momentum of the arm. right before you reach the 45 degree angle on the arm, you slide your right leg forward placing it right beside the left leg that did not move after the final step. then simply freeze in the hitler stance and watch that sucker fly!
(note: the baseball pitch i was talking about refers to the L in the throwing arm at the end part of the throw)

[Image: nazi-gnomes_1134291c.jpg] (perfect final stance example.)
this is all one big movement and the faster/cleaner youdo it the further it goes. you MUST stop your arm AT 45 DEGREES this is the KEY factor that decides the angle of the throw. the greener the line the most distance you get out of it. if the line behind the jav is red then you wasted a lot of potential distance.

i hope this helps at all or makes more sence.

RE: any tips for the throwing events in Kinect Sports?
oh yeah sorry for the extra post but i would like to add that some people prefer throwing the javelin like a discus instead of a baseball. (no L bend in the arm and its not a linear motion)

this technique is MUCH less accurate beacause its harder to stop the arm at 45 degrees (hitler stance).
however if you do nail it usually the jav goes very far. I still have no idea how the world record was set, it had to be a 1 time fluke/glitch.
