Information Revive: How To Play Oculus Exclusives On Windows Mixed Reality
I thought I'd repost the the Revive tutorial article here and sticky it:

Now that the SteamVR Preview is available to the general public, Windows Mixed Reality VR HMD owners can also play some Oculus Rift exclusives via the Revive app! Including games such as VR Sports Challenge, which you can view a trailer for above. Here's what you have to do:

Download and install SteamVR Preview

The first thing is of course to download and install SteamVR Preview if you haven't already. Also make sure you've got the latest Windows 10 Update that was also released yesterday. You can download SteamVR Preview HERE and read the setup instructions HERE.

Download and install Oculus Home

Next you have to download the Oculus app from HERE to install Oculus Home which give you access to the Oculus Store. Click on the "Download Oculus Software" button. When the file has finished downloading click "Run" on the download box or browse to where you saved it and double-click on it to run the setup. Click on the various "Agree" and "Next" buttons and choose the "Rift and Touch" configuration. Then when it gets to the "Connect Your Rift Headset And Oculus Sensor" screen make sure you click "Skip Setup" at the bottom. It will ask you if you're sure and you should click "Skip Setup" on that pop-up too. During the installation process you will be asked to create an Oculus account, which you also need to do of course.

Download and install Revive

Now you have to download the latest version of the Revive app from HERE. It's the file called "ReviveInstaller.exe". Click "Run" on the download box when the file has finished downloading or browse to where you saved it and double-click on it to run the installer. Once the installation has finished click close.

Download and install an Oculus game to test

Before you go buying any Oculus exclusives you should first download some free Oculus exclusives to test that Revive is installed and working properly on your PC. Plus you're going to get free games, experiences and apps! To download a game, experience or app you have to run the Oculus Home app that you previously installed. It should be in the Windows Start Menu, or you can run it from the Desktop if you have a shortcut for it there too.

Then go to "Store" and browse the games, experiences and apps for any free ones you would like to download. Click on one you want to download then click on the blue button that has the price on, which will say "Free" for all the free ones obviously. Ignore the message that pops up asking you to set up Rift and Touch, just click "Continue". This will start the download and installation, which can take seconds, minutes or even hours depending on the size of the game/experience/app you selected and your download speed.

When the game/experience/app has finished installing DON'T CLICK START! Go to "Library" to check that it has installed. I think that Oculus Home actually comes with Lucky's Tale and Bullet Train pre-installed, or at least pre-downloaded. If your Library shows that everything you have downloaded has been installed (they should say "Start" when you hover the mouse cursor over them) then close Oculus Home and and move on to the final step. If they happen to say "Install" instead of "Start" when you hover the mouse cursor over them then click on them to finish installing them, then close Oculus Home and move on to the final steps.

Run Revive and play your Oculus "exclusives"!

Put on your Windows Mixed Reality VR HMD and start SteamVR (Preview currently). When you open the SteamVR menu from within SteamVR you should now see a "REVIVE" button at the bottom, next to the "DESKTOP" button.

If there isn't a "REVIVE" button then you have to go back to your desktop and click on the little arrow next to "SteamVR" on the SteamVR box and select "Settings" from the dropdown menu. In the settings menu click on "Applications" and put a checkmark in the "Revive Dashboard" box. Then close the settings menu and when you open the SteamVR menu again from within SteamVR the "REVIVE" button should be there.

Click on the "REVIVE" button and all your Oculus games, experiences and/or apps should pop up. Click on the game/experience/app you want to run and if both Revive and Windows Mixed Reality currently supports it then it should just work! It can sometimes take a while to load though.

The Oculus Touch controllers are slightly different to the Windows Mixed Reality motion controllers, so you'll probably find that the face buttons from the Touch controllers will be mapped to the clickable sections of the touchpads. Controls may differ depending on the games, so you'll have to figure those out yourself or ask others in the community for help if you have any issues.

Along with the free games that come with Oculus Home, here are a couple of free Oculus exclusives I can recommend, although I can't confirm whether they definitely work with Windows Mixed Reality:

Mission: ISS

Mission: ISS is an astronaut simulator set aboard the International Space Station! It's an educational experience where you learn about the space station. This isn't some 360 video you sit back and watch though, this is a fully-rendered ISS that you explore the inside and sometimes outside of freely while floating in zero-gravity! There is a training mode, pop-up videos to watch when you select certain things, plus there are various missions to complete. It's an amazing experience and it's free so definitely worth downloading.

Blade Runner 2049: Memory Lab

Blade Runner 2049: Memory Lab is a movie-tie in which is a mini adventure game that uses the latest volumetric graphics technology to create very photorealistic graphics. This does require quite a powerful PC though. The recommended graphics card is a GTX 1080! You play a Blade Runner investigating his own memories. I can't really say anything else about it without giving the story away. It's free, so if you can run it then just download it and try it!

Here is a list of Oculus exclusive games that Revive currently supports, although I can't confirm whether they all work with Windows Mixed Reality:
  • Arktika.1
  • Anshar Wars 2
  • Blade Runner 2049: Memory Lab
  • BlazeRush
  • Bullet Train (Free)
  • Chronos
  • Damaged Core
  • Dead and Buried
  • Dragon Front
  • Drop Dead
  • Dungeon Chess
  • Edge of Nowhere
  • Esper 2
  • Farlands (Free)
  • Feral Rites
  • First Contact (Free)
  • G2A Land
  • Herobound
  • Hitman GO: VR Edition
  • Landfall
  • Lucky's Tale (Free)
  • Mission: ISS (Free)
  • Mountain Goat Mountain (Free)
  • Pro Fishing Challenge VR (Free)
  • Rockband VR (Microphone doesn't work with Revive)
  • Ripcoil

  • Shufflepuck Cantina Deluxe
  • The Climb
  • The Mage's Tale
  • The Unspoken
  • Toybox (Free)
  • VR Sports Challenge
  • VR Tennis Online
  • Wilson's Heart

There are also conflicting reports about whether Lone Echo & Echo Arena work with Revive or not and From Other Suns may work with it too but I can't definitely confirm that.

Have you got a Windows Mixed Reality VR HMD and if so are there any Oculus Rift exclusives you're looking forward to playing using Revive? Have you played any already? Let us know in the comments below, or create a discussion in our (PC) Windows Mixed Reality VR Games forum.
