Joystiq spotted that Amazon USA and Gamestop have changed the release date for Nyko Zoom. The device, originally scheduled to be released on 23rd August appears now with the date of 13th September 2011. According to Amazon UK, Nyko Zoom will come to Europe one week later than in USA: 20th September 2011.

For those not familiar with Nyko’s Zoom, the product features include:

  • Play with 1 or 2 players in a smaller space
  • Easily clips over the Kinect Sensor – no modification or complex installation needed
  • Plug and play – no tuning, software or adjustment needed

‘Overwhelming demand’

Nyko’s PR firm just contacted 123KINECT stating the delay was caused by an overwhelming demand for the Kinect accessory: “Due to overwhelming demand from consumers and retailers we’re increasing our initial production run and pushing the launch date back accordingly to ensure that all our partners are adequately supplied on launch day. The Zoom will now be available at retailers nationwide on September 13th”, said Rich Jones.
