Voice Control in Action: Kinect Sports: Season Two (VIDEO)

Kinect Sports: Season Two will be the first game where both the interface and the game itself will heavily rely on the Voice Recognition capabilities of Kinect. We’ve already seen in the demo that this works extremely well, but for those that did not download it yet or those that do not have a Gold account might not know how big of an impact this has on the game!

Well if you are curious to how the Voice Commands of Kinect Sports: Season Two will impact the gameplay: Watch the above and below video on this functionality. Both give a short impression of how voice commands are used in the various games, also in ones that are not in the demo!

For those that did try it in the demo: Did you have any problems with the voice recognition? I’m curious about this because it just seems to work so flawless! Quite impressive work by Rare and I’m wondering if this might be one of the first flawlessly working voice recognition implementations. Let me know!

Kinect Sports Season 2 seems to be great at using voice control. I played the demo, mind you when i said practice it started a video teaching me how to gesture practice before entering the mode, but thats probs the toutorial that will be disableable in the game, still a little odd they didn’t say “or just say “practice”". Also isn’t Dance Central 2 out first, it has voice control in its menus and in break it down and possibly elsewhere since i only played its demo too. But for both of them, flawless voice recognition. And if the dashboard is any where close as flawless when it comes to voice control, I’ll be happy to have these and the first major implementations of voice control in Australia.

Voice control works only in USA and UK? Where the voice command already enabled?
Cause in Hungary for example when I say SKIP it didn’t work…..but I can speak english quite well….
So maybe I’m gonna give it a try again this evening.

Works in Australia. Anyway, this is a demo, the full game is made for the world, but your a developer your not gonna spend lots of time changing a demo for each region because that just takes time which removes time from actual game development. So my guess is that you will probally get it in the full release of the game that has all the features and sports, and as for the demo, they chose what im guessing the main audience is for them (like E3 is in America, so there is some favouritism), but when they release the full game. They are going world-wide and the game, including its voice recognition, will stretch that far (most likely).

Works in the Netherlands too, but I don’t think I ever got ‘SKIP’ to work. Try saying ‘ xbox ‘ on the tennis / golf screen.. and then say: ” play golf “ or.. ” play tennis ”

still not work…even after the whole re-configuration. It says Kinect can hear you.
Maybe the problem is that my LiveID region is set to Hungary and also in my console settings the region set to Hungary too….

Could be, I’m not sure what my region etc is. You may try changing that indeed. To skip the scene, I noticed you have to say ‘skip’ without ‘xbox’ before it

As I said in the forum, it work for me in french even if it’s still not available in the dashboard. To my knowledge it’s the only game that is working in french so far, and it’s working very well. SKIP is working for me.
