The “Xbox Play” ad shows an in-depth view of how we will interact with our television and what kind of content our television will provide. The Xbox and Kinect platform is going to be far more than just a gaming thing, it’s going to be a service aggregator that will bring us all our content via one simple interface! Check it out!

The future is now

All the stuff you see in the above video is coming to Xbox very soon. So you’ll be able to browse the web, watch TV, gather information, play games, chat and stay up to date on everything via one platform: The Xbox. You’ll also be able to interact with all of these services via one interface: Kinect!

No, there is no web browsing capability planned for the upcoming release. If Microsoft was adding a web browser to the Xbox 360 they wouldn’t be cagey about it.

The author of this article is mistaking the incorporation of Bing with web browsing. A search engine is being integrated into the UI to provide search capabilities to the entire library of Xbox LIVE content, including games, music, TV, and videos. That search engine is being branded “Bing”. How integrated the Bing features are with the Bing search engine found on the Internet is anyone’s guess at the moment, but it doesn’t enable web browsing.

So you’re saying we’ll never have browsing on the Xbox? I think it’s a very logical next step for Microsoft to take.

Maybe on next generation xbox with microsoft office.They said they wont put a browser on the xbox only dedicated apps well there is a unofficial MCE browser.

I think a Harry Potter game and voice recognition would go perfectly together. Being in an epic duel and casting spells by shouting them at your tv…AWESOME!
