Independent developer Nangok Software have released Zazen, a Zen meditation game for Kinect 2, the trailer for which you can watch above. The game is available to download on Xbox Live exclusively for Xbox One via the ID@Xbox self-pubishing programme priced at $9.99 (US).
As I mentioned in the previous article, the game currently seems to be only announced for North America, which is odd considering the developer is Japanese and the game appears to be in Japanese with English subtitles. Now that it has been released I have double checked and it’s still not available in other regions. I’ll update this article if and when it is.
Here’s more (slightly “engrish”-y) info from Zazen’s website:
Please enjoy the zen meditation and transcription by Kinect in a beautiful Japanese garden.
It is a game that you can experience real zazen experience with Kinect by supervision of Sekiguchi Tyudo who is the priesthood of Tendai Buddhism Fukoji Temple.
We prepared fulfilling content by supervision of experts. You say zen meditation for the first time, please be relieved. A good zazen experience should be able to be done.
In addition to a video tutorial that is comfortable for beginners, Kinect posture check can be used to organize correct zazen.
Kinect detects heart disorder
Kinect measures your body and breathing and supports it so that you can calm down and sit down. It is also possible to go to SNS to see the appearance during Zen meditation!
