Gears of War rumored to come to Kinect, but not just yet...
Earlier, Microsoft was rumored to give a big announcement at the VGAs that had to do with Gears of War and possibly with Kinect as well. Unfortunately, according to Microsoft frontman Major Nelson delayed the announcement. Or, in his words:
I have just learned of a decision to postpone our planned Gears of War news from Epic Games for the Spike Video Game Awards this weekend. I wanted to share this with you and let you know that while these are never easy decisions, we can tell you that what we have to share for the franchise in 2011 will definitely be worth the wait and we look forward to working with our partner at Spike on sharing this world premier news when it is ready.

Here’s the announcement of the announcement (still with me?) that didn’t go through:
Sure, Gears of War 3 will be announced soon (as the game series is very successful). But, notice how he says: “Gears of war gameS…” (plural). In my view a Gears of War announcement for Kinect can massively increase Kinect’s sales, but Kinect’s sales are already through the roof. In other words: Kinect doesn’t need a Gears of War announcement right now, but may need it in February 2011 for example, when Christmas is long gone. Are you still expecting Kinect Gears? We sure are, give it a few months!
