It looks like there'll be a sequel to Joy Ride and that it will be an XBLA game called Joy Ride Arcade. The XBLA part isn't actually that surprising as Joy Ride was originally meant to be an XBLA game (and was even going to be a joypad game) and a lot of people were upset that it was changed to a full priced disc game. Plus of course Microsoft are pushing downloadable games as I said before. There are 2 pieces of evidence for the game as mentioned in this article:

First is that Joy Ride Arcade has just been classified G in Australia:

The second is that Big Park have announced on their website that they're working on a top secret game and that it will be revealed soon. Big Park are the Microsoft studio that made the original Joy Ride:

Either Joy Ride Arcade has had its name changed to Joy Ride Turbo or there are 2 new Joy Ride games coming out:

It could be possible of course that Microsoft are doing what Sega did to the new (as in latest, it's still a few years old) Sega Rally where they released it on disc then released a cheap cut-down version on XBLA.

Joy Ride Turbo is actually a joypad-based XBLA sequel. I didn't see that one coming! There's not even any mention of it being Kinect optional which seems weird as the first one was "Kinect Required". (Although having said that Joy Ride was actually originally going to be a joypad-based XBLA game.)

Joyride with a controller will just show how simple the game is. If you want a controller karting game, it's better to go with Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.

I love love love this game! It has tons of tracks. Lots of different characters. Great graphics. Online multiplayer. Local multiplayer. Power ups.
