Kinect's ideal room setup is an interesting issue that we haven't faced before in gaming. According to Microsoft's Kinect Developers the above is not the best environment for Kinect. Ever wondered what you need to do with Kinect in order for it to work optimally?


Ideal Kinect Room Setup
For the optimal experience you want the camera in line with the middle of your TV and you want to put as much distance between you and the sensor, with the "ideal play space about six feet away", with another "three to four feet either side of you as well".

You'll also be required to clean your floor for Kinect's skeletal system to track you as accurately as possible, and you should try to make sure you have even lighting throughout the room.
