Hello 123Kinect Community!,
This is my first post! I'll begin to my question now. So, Microsoft says 6-8 feet away from the sensor is required to play Kinect, and some people say otherwise over that but nonetheless I'm asking this question because I never get a clear answer for it. I have a space of exactly 8 feet from where I'll be placing Kinect, after that 8 feet there is no room to move back. Microsoft has never specified on how much space in width you need so this confuses me too, I have 5 feet of width. I'm playing it in a bedroom, and I'd like to think the space given is pretty average. Mainly will use for single player gaming, if I want 2 player I'll set it up in the living room anyways. Hope to get some help! |

RE: Kinect advice PLEASE (Room space)
My only experiece is with Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports, and Dance Central. Using those three as a guide, you will be fine as far as the 8 feet room depth is concerned playing single player. The 5 feet width should also be fine for the most part, you may run into an issue or two with some games (maybe in Kinect Soccer, it seems to require more horizontal movement for me) but all in all you should be find playin single player.

RE: Kinect advice PLEASE (Room space)
I have less than 8ft play space, and it works great! I think it'll be enough for 2 players as well. 5feet wide, ... most of the times that is going to work.
Height may also be an issue, be sure you can extend your arm far enough without hitting a fan or a lamp ![]() Good luck! ![]() The most complete Kinect Games List... ever! |

RE: Kinect advice PLEASE (Room space)
Thanks for the replies guys
Yeah basically 5 feet in width, there's 2 single beds on both sides so when you extend your arm you don't hit anything And thanks for the link legreffer! |
