Turns out that some guy hacked the Kinect and used a Wii controller. Don't know if you've seen/reported on the video:

I've just worked out how a Kinect game (like a new Call Of Duty for instance) can include a gun REALLY cheaply. (So either not adding to the price or only costing like £5 extra.) Remember that Xbox joypads have a connector at the bottom for headsets and chatpads? So a really cheap gun can be made that simply has the trigger and a few buttons wired to a connector that plugs into the joypad (and the joypad can by held by a cradle at the bottom of the gun) so that it just uses the joypad's technology rather than having the tech inside the gun which would make it cost more. Then Kinect can use object tracking to track the position of the gun. My other, even cheaper, idea was inspired by that video of drawing buttons. You could have a plastic (or even cardboard) gun and instead of a trigger you simply have a coloured circle or some other shape on the front of the handle (so Kinect can see it) and to shoot you simply touch the circle with your trigger finger.
