Left/right alignment
Hi,

I got my Kinect yesterday (live in Europe) - great stuff!

One question though: Right out of the box the sensor was not centered horizontally, the sensor bar is not parallel to the base. I couldn't find a way to calibrate the left/right alignment - is that possible? Should I manually move the bar?

Thanks,
Hauke

Heya Hauke,

Well, I would suggest:
1) making a picture so we can see what you mean Big Grin
2) not rotate the thing yourself, because I think the motoric base is something not to mess with

3) it may be best to consider bringing it back to where you bought it and ask for another one.

Greets,
Clemens
ps: how well does it work in practice?

RE: Left/right alignment
yeah, that's not right. it should be level with the base right out of the box. Take it back and get a replacement.

Same problem here, Xbox360s Family Bundle (white edition)
but I cannot take it back to the store as I bought it when I was on tavel.
Quality control seems prety poor in Microsoft products,
will this affect my gameplay?

Thank you

RE: Left/right alignment
if it's a little off, it doesn't matter. and if it's only a little off, you can slowly rotate it. just don't force it. but definitely don't pivot it vertically.

its shouldn't effect your game play much, the sensor is quite forgiving. as long as the kinect is pointed the right direction and sitting at the right height, there shouldn't be any issues.

usually it calibrates before any gameplay so if there are any issues it would show from the start.
