MIT project: creating maps in real-time with Kinect
a pretty neat project. the guy is generating maps of his environment in real time as he walks around, with the help of the Kinect's depth sensor. ![]() |

I'm confused, how exactly is Kinect used? The guy in the video never even mentions it except at the beginning. LIDAR seems to be used for the scanning, judging by what he said. I wonder if they're just sort of spamming by adding Kinect in there just to get their project noticed? Lol!
