RE: My "Get in shape" Blog
2011/03/14 (Monday)
[YSFE] : Sleeve-Busting Arms CALORIES : 51 / 2017 - 2000 burned calories DURATION : 10 min / 4h42 [EASA2] : Workout 20 of 36 + custom workout (Biceps Curls + Push Ups) EXERCISES : 36 (34+2) CALORIES : 255 (247+8) / 5346 DURATION : 37 (35+2) min / 13h52 MHB : 189 / 200 AHB : 111 (121+101) / 114 DISTANCE (miles) : 2.8 / 15.98 I had less trouble with "Star Planks", rather than put my arm on the floor near my head, I placed it near my shoulder. It was easier. My MHB was still high, but I think it's because I put the HBM tighter. I did the Kinect Tuner and I lower the angle of Kinect, it helped a little but I still have problems with recognition. ![]() [My "Get in shape" Blog] [Kinect Sports Leaderboards] |

RE: My "Get in shape" Blog
It says that de Kinect works best near the minimum height (60 cm) or the maximum height (2 metres). At which height do you have the Kinect? But it is weird that it is all of a sudden not working right... I mean it was fine up until now right?
Good luck, figuring out how to solve it. ![]() |

But it is weird that it is all of a sudden not working right... I mean it was fine up until now right? My kinect is on top my tv (near my head's height) and yes it worked well until now. Today it was 50% of cardio (just 17% lower) and it was almost perfect... 2011/03/16 (Wednesday) [EASA2] : Workout 21 of 36 EXERCISES : 33 CALORIES : 278 / 5625 DURATION : 40 min / 14h33 MHB :191 / 200 AHB : 115 / 114 DISTANCE (miles) : 0.7 / 16.68 ![]() [My "Get in shape" Blog] [Kinect Sports Leaderboards] |

2011/03/22 (Monday) [EASA2] : Workout 24 of 36 EXERCISES : 34 CALORIES : 279 / 6452 DURATION : 38 min / 16h34 MHB :182 / 200 AHB : 126 / 114 DISTANCE (miles) : 2.81 / 19.24 Phase 2 completed ![]() Ok I think I solved my recognition problems, what I found is that when I drink water or I wipe my face between exercises, it loses me. So if I get out of the sight of the kinect just before the next exercise it loses me, if I drink water and I wait for the next exercise to be started before putting the water bottle on the table, it’s ok. I think it scans you just before starting the next exercise. And while doing exercises, if I let my head and my shoulders toward the kinect and the light (my lamp is on the left side of my tv), it work much better. I will add another light on the right side of the room. It seems that the website of EA Sports Active (http://www.easportsactive.com) has received an update, it’s more polish and faster. ![]() [My "Get in shape" Blog] [Kinect Sports Leaderboards] |

2011/03/27 (Sunday) [EASA2] : Workout 26 and 27 of 36 EXERCISES : 58 (25+33) CALORIES : 508 (225+283) / 7253 - 7000 burned calories DURATION : 1h19 (34+41 min) / 18h31 MHB :168 and 179 / 200 AHB : 108 and 120 / 114 DISTANCE (miles) : 4.19 (3.4+0.79) / 22.1 I did the first one with my son (he's 10) and he’s not in good shape, he’s not doing sports during winter. He found that the workout was hard for him. He will do it with me once a week to be ready for the next season of soccer. I had a new exercise : Straight Legged Sit Ups. Am I the only one who can’t do it ??? Each time I tried I can do 5 or 6 of them but my legs are ending up in the air and my arms are way in front of me. It seem so easy for the instructor. I have to do it with something heavy on my ankles. And the number of repetition of Split Squat Jump Repeats is now 40 ![]() Even tough I mostly solved my recognition problem, I still have some difficulties. I finally and completely solved it, my kinect was turned toward the left by only 3 or 4 degree, but enough to cause problems. 2011/03/28 (Monday) [EASA2] : Workout 28 of 36 EXERCISES : 34 CALORIES : 277 / 7530 DURATION : 39 min / 19h10 MHB :168 / 200 AHB : 119 / 114 DISTANCE (miles) : 3.4 / 23.05 ![]() [My "Get in shape" Blog] [Kinect Sports Leaderboards] |

I don't think it's a huge problem if you lift your legs a little though as long as you're trying not to and your still working your abs. And I agree with that upping Split Squat Jump Repeats to 40 is just plain mean; I can do them but I never squat all the way down now as I know if I do I just burn out after 20. ![]() |

2011/03/30 (Wednesday) [EASA2] : Workout 29 of 36 EXERCISES : 33 CALORIES : 360 / 7890 DURATION : 47 min / 19h58 MHB :173 / 200 AHB : 120 / 115 DISTANCE (miles) : 1.21 / 24.25 This is the biggest workout i’ve done so far with 360 calories and it last for 47 min. Strangely it was not the toughest because it was concentrated more on cardio than lower body. Yesterday I bought a mat and a resistance tube kit at Walmart. Both are from Everlast. The mat (17$) is excellent and it make a huge difference for me. ![]() ![]() I love the resistance tube kit (20$), I use the medium tube and it’s perfect. The interior of the handles is made of foam and they turn with your hands. ![]() ![]() [My "Get in shape" Blog] [Kinect Sports Leaderboards] |

In my first few weeks I was burning 100 odd calories in a 20 odd minute session and it built up to 200 odd calories a a session, then 300 and now I'm into the 400 over 50 minutes. It's gradual and really well thought out though if you'd heard my swearing at the TV during this mornings grueling 31st workout you'd think I thought otherwise. I do burn more off than Legeffer because I'm heavier though at 180lbs; I'm actually a little lower but haven't updated it for a few weeks. Having just read your weight you'll soon find your burning a lot off, keep at it. ![]() |
