When not in use, should we unplug the Kinect from the console? I have read elsewhere that it goes into "low-power mode" or whatever, but it is still very warm after I have played a game of FIFA or something.

You can turn off the sensor from within the system settings when not in use. You can find the settings on the far right of the My Xbox channel. You'll have to go back and turn it on before every use though.

I think it is a great way to save some energy indeed, but I guess it's all a matter of weighing in on the alternatives. Whenever you move the sensor, don't forget to recalibrate .
