Watching Netflix with friends & chatting?
My brother and I both have Kinect and we tried watching a netflix movie together. It was very difficult because there was an echo of the movie. We had to turn our tvs way down (I mean way down) to be able to chat and watch. Anyone know if there will be a fix on this?
The kinect can tell the difference between movies and voice commands, so I don't see why this wouldn't work. I think part of my problem is that my center speaker is less then a foot below my kinect. I suppose I could change my audio settings from 5.1 to stereo and turn the center speaker off if I want to watch with someone, but what a pain. ![]() ![]() |

you could turn off the kinect mics during netflix. netflix doesn't have kinect support anyways (not yet).

Ow thats too bad indeed. I think it is the center speaker as well, try moving Kinect or the speaker I guess... kinect has algorithms filtering background noise.

Yeah, it's definitely the placement of your center speaker. I recently moved my center to about 3 feet below Kinect and now even after re-calibrating, I have to yell at Kinect. I'll probably end up having to move my speaker back where it was.

dirtyvu, that defeats the whole purpose of watching it together. We want to talk while watching. I could just turn off my front speakers and only use my rear speakers. HazyCloud, where was your speaker before that worked better?

LOL No offense man but you would drive me nuts. I'm one of the non-talkers during movies and tell people that are talking to STFU or we can go outside

LOL No worries, I just like no distractions unless its a crappy movie, then I don't care if people talk.

I don't like talking during movies either. But I love to Mystery Science 3000 on terrible movies. My brother and I along with some other friends do it via headsets. Just want to get rid of the headset.

RE: Watching Netflix with friends & chatting?
to me, a surround sound setup for a movie is far more important than chatting during the movie. turning off the front speakers is blasphemy. if you want to talk, headset is the way to go. you can still text while watching the movie. and if you really want no headset, you can go ghetto and have speakerphone on your cell or landphone.
