I thought I'd make a thread for non-Kinect (or Kinect optional like Minecraft) Xbox 360 exclusives already released or due to be released this year since some people still seem to believe that there are hardly any non-Kinect Xbox 360 exclusives out this year. While it's true that not many disc-based games have been announced for this year (yet) part of the reason is that Microsoft is pushing digital distribution and many of this year's XBLA games are big games that would normally be released on a disc like Alan Wake's American Nightmare.
I'll put (Looks like a big game.) next to XBLA games that either have been announced to have as much content as a disc-based game or just look like disc-based games if there's not much info about the content and I'll post standard XBLA titles in orange in normal sized font, big XBLA titles in light green in a bigger font and disc-based titles in dark green in the biggest font. I'll put (Console exclusive.) next to games that are/will be available on the PC too but the only console they are/will be available for is the Xbox 360. (Bear in mind that sometimes "console exclusives" can become multiplatform later on, like if they happen to be just timed exclusives.) Also I'll include a link to a trailer (if there is one, or video footage if there is any) and a link to more info for each of the games. The release dates are in UK format (day/month/year).
Also Captain Blood was supposed to come out on the Xbox 360 (console exclusive) but the official website only mentions PC now. ![]()
NUMBER OF 2012 EXCLUSIVES (NON-KINECT OR KINECT OPTIONAL NOT REQUIRED) ANNOUNCED SO FAR BY FORMAT:
TOTAL NUMBER OF 2012 EXCLUSIVES: 39
(Released so far: 26)
I can add more games as they're announced. Also remember these are just (non-Kinect) exclusives, obviously there are LOADS of games coming out this year for the Xbox 360 that are multiplatform. |

I just added Skulls Of The Shogun to the list. It's an XBLA console exclusive.
I just added Lives And Death to the list. It's XBLA according to the title of the trailer but it looks like it could be a big game. Here's a preview from OXM: http://www.oxmonline.com/lives-and-death...ok-preview Quote:Lives and Death is an adventure game with its closest analog being, perhaps, David Cage’s emotional drama Heavy Rain for the PlayStation 3. For Xbox, then, it’s something quite new. You are Phillip Bester, a man who wakes up with no memory of what’s happened to him, save for a vision of his own death. He only knows that he has to get away from where he is, to (hopefully) avoid his fate. His reality splits along with his personality. Soon, different things are happening in each reality, such as physics changing or gravity being altered. We’re told the screen can split up to nine times to represent each reality, and you can die in some of those realities. It’s up to you to learn things in each one that can be applied to the others. And the first trailer: |

2 more Xbox 360 exclusives to add to the list! The first is a Darkstalkers-style 1-on-1 beat-em-up called Phantom Breaker that's being released on disc on April 10th:
The 2nd is an awesome looking scrolling beat-em-up with cel-shaded 3D graphics (similar to Street Fighter 4's) and 2-player co-op called Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior's Rise which will be released on XBLA on March 28th for 800msp: |

![]() Added another one to the list. Charlie Murder by Ska Studios (who make The Dishwasher games), which like the original Dishwasher originally started off as an Indie Game. (As in planned for the "Indie Games" section, it's still an "indie game" as in made by an independent developer.) I don't know what sort of game it is as they've only released a logo so far but they say it's going to be shown at PAX East.

I've found more info on Charlie Murder, it's a beat-em-up that's sort of a cross between Double Dragon and Castle Crashers:
http://www.giantbomb.com/charlie-murder/61-30494/ Quote:This side-scrolling brawler from the developer of The Dishwasher stars a fictitious punk band. Giant Bomb also have an old preview from PAX East 2010 when it was originally going to be an Indie Game: http://www.giantbomb.com/news/charlie-mu...name/1932/ Quote:Charlie Murder is a four-player brawler starring the members of a fictitious punk band called... Charlie Murder. Oh, hey, the front man's name is also Charlie Murder, and he's backed by Lester Deth on guitar, Tommy Homicide on bass, and The Rexecutioner on drums. The story behind the game is that Charlie's girlfriend--Skelekitten--has been taken by a rival metal band. So you'll have to beat up a bunch of dudes with crowbars and unleash special attacks to save the day. And here's a Giant Bomb video interview that includes direct-feed footage from PAX 2011: http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-road...r/17-4783/ |

Some good news and bad news:
First the bad news, Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior's Rise has been delayed until May. ![]() Now the good news, another exclusive to add to the list! ![]() http://playxbla.com/the-splatters-offici...een-shots/ Quote:The Splatters is a one of a kind physics-driven puzzler where you control liquid-filled creatures with one purpose in life – to go out with style. The unique physics gameplay allows almost endless possibilities to finish a level and as the player gains the skill, their creativity will start bursting out on every move they make. The game features: Here's the launch trailer: |

Yet another Xbox 360 exclusive (console exclusive, but it was designed for the Xbox 360 and has exclusive content) to add to the list! Anomaly: Warzone Earth is going to be released on XBLA on April 6th for 800msp.

I added Joy Ride Turbo, a joypad-based Joy Ride sequel that's being released on XBLA. There's no date given yet but Microsoft say it's only a few weeks away.
http://playxbla.com/playxbla-exclusive-j...ve-arcade/ Unfortunately there are a couple of delays to add. Phantom Breaker has been delayed until May 8th (except for the Japanese version which is apparenly out now) and Akai Katana has been delayed until May 11th. (This is also available in Japan now.) |

Some more exclusives to add to the list!
![]() Quote:Action RPG Adventure The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing Announced for PC and XBLA There are no in-game screenshots or videos yet but the logo and some concept art has been released: ![]() The next game is Miner Wars 2081 and is another XBLA game that looks like a big game and is due out Q3-Q4 2012. There's also Miner Wars MMO due out later but I don't know if that will be available for the Xbox 360 or just PC only. The game appears to be a "spiritual successor" to the Descent games with former Descent developers working on it! Here's more info from the official website: http://www.minerwars.com/ Quote:Miner Wars Overview Here's a really cool trailer: The 3rd game I found is called Unstoppable Gorg, which is already out on the PC, Mac & iPad and is "COMING SOON!" to XBLA. Here's some info from the official website: http://www.unstoppablegorg.com/ Quote:REVOLUTIONARY TOWER DEFENSE Here's the pretty funny trailer: This 4th game is another one that has already been released on the PC but is also due out on XBLA. Serious Sam Double D is a Contra-style 2D platform-shoot-em-up. Here's more info about it: http://www.mommysbestgames.com/serioussamdoubled.html Quote:STORY And here's the hilariously awesome trailer: The final game I came across is Capsized which is yet another game that's already out on the PC and was due out on XBLA last December but that obviously didn't happen so hopefully it's due out soon. (When it is released it will include Xbox 360 exclusive levels and enhanced graphics according to this press release: http://www.zoogamesinc.com/press/indiepu...ve-arcade/ ) Here's more info about the game from the official website: http://www.capsizedgame.com/ Quote:Capsized is a fast paced 2d platformer developed by Alientrap Games, focused on intense action and exploration.
