505 Games is enjoying something of a surprise hit with Zumba Fitness as the game is outperforming expectations! The game aims to keep you and I fit via nine different dance styles: Reggaeton, Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, Hip-Hop, Mambo, Rumba, Flamenco and Calypso. The XBOX 360 version already shipped over 500,000 times in mid-January, but continues its success in February and beyond according to Bog Burridge.

Zumba Fitness The Video Game contains an exercise program that pairs Latin rhythms with international dance steps. This game is all about learning and perfecting nine different dance styles: Reggaeton, Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, Hip-Hop, Mambo, Rumba, Flamenco and Calypso. According to some of the Kinect game’s customers, the experience was far from perfect. That is why Majesco took matters into their own hands and just released an update for their fitness / dancing title.

An impression of 500,000 people playing Zumba Fitness Kinect Game
Earlier this week Kinect game maker Majesco announced their great achievement of shipping 500,000 Zumba Fitness video game units for all platforms combined! Great results for both Majesco and motion controls. Hopefully, this will inspire other developers and publishers to try and make a belly-dance Kinect Game as some have requested on the forums.
