I have to say that I can’t think of any reason why anyone would want to use Kinect in career mode! This is a game that will require immense precision and, preferably, some level of feedback via a steering wheel; just not something that Kinect is capable of.

I know all about forza, I owned all 3 and yes it does require precision, however Kinect is very capable of precision movements. The poster below, Abe, only bought Kinect for Forza, however being you can’t play career mode, his reason is moot unless free play will pacify those people.

There isn’t any reason why career mode wouldn’t been able to handle both kinect/controller modes and should of been left by choice to the consumer. I don’t like the steering wheel add-ons in my opinion, unless you go all out and setup the cockpit with 3 TVs, but most normal people don’t/can’t do that, so I was hoping Kinect would of given a bit more immersive experience.

Looks like we will have to disagree then! I enjoy using the steering wheel and think that trying to integrate kinect into the career mode would have ended up making it more like Joy Ride; fun, but not what Forza is all about.

I can see the point of view that says “why not let people use it if they want” but I think Turn10 are proud of their game and don’t want to dilute it; I think that their decision to use kinect for the menus and head tracking with extra game modes specifically for it is the best way to integrate it.

Well I do see your point with the steering wheel as Joy Ride I ridiculed because I didn’t like the auto driving…I should of fully exlpained myself lol I feel as well Forza is a simulation so even though the freeplay is auto driving, it’s quite dumb IMO. Us forza guys know that we were taught with Forza 1 to brake/slow into the beginning of a turn and then accelerate out of the turn, you can’t do this with auto accell/decel and I noticed this a lot in joy ride. I should of reiterated that I was hoping for a career mode that was as real as possible using Kinect, minus the steering wheel addons. I wanted to sit in a chair and press some imaginary gas/brake/clutch pedals holding onto an imaginary wheel (or the toy ones for that matter) with some head tracking.

My gripe with these steering wheels is that none of them have a clutch! Last time I did some searching, there was only one and it was made by Porsche or for them or something. I don’t believe it was compatible. IMO Forza is the highest simulation you can get without actually driving each car yourself, these steering wheels dudes should know that, and not make steering wheel addons with no clutch! The difference with an auto-stick/paddle stick (no clutch but manual shifting) and a manual clutch could be seconds depending on the person if they know how to shift, and seconds is huge when it comes to racing.

only 1 Kinect achievement??? they should have 1 for using headtracking, 1 for using Kinect at the Autovista, and 1 Kinect for voice control. all in addition to the Kinect inside the game. :D
