Summer Stars hits the shelves in June

Today, Deep Silver and 49Games announced the release date for Summer Stars! The game will be available in the UK on 1st June 2012. Unfortunately, the release date for North America has not been confirmed yet though I’m expecting it to be pretty close to the UK one.

Featured disciplines

In addition to this announcement, four more screenshots have been made available. These add up to the other four screenshots released a month ago. The cool thing is that each one of these screenshots shows a different discipline featured in the game: archery, mountain biking, swimming, throwing, diving, fencing, jumping and sprinting. The game features more than 18 disciplines and challenges.

Hopefully Sega’s Olympics game comes out around the same time so they can be compared in reviews. Even more hopefully they’ll both be great or at least good games that are worth buying, lol!

there is no way that this will be good, they are trying to do fencing with kinect, and also we have seen a promising change in the kinect tracking accuracy it will never fill anything like the real thing, unlike some of the more sucssusful activities ffor kinect such as the kinect advanture mini games, kinect fruit ninja or disney land advantures which has bad controls and accuracy but still makes you feel as you are doing what you are doing on the screen, but fencing is just too high level for kinect, as well as PS move.

Deep silver huh?? Didnt they make that game dead island that had a bus load of bugs upon released? Didnt they say dead island was suppose to be the zombie experience gamers was waiting for ? ( i still prefer left for dead) And they are attempting a kinect game??? (In the horse voice on ren and stimpy) NO SIR……..I DONT LIKE IT!!!

I thought Dead Island was highly acclaimed? (I’ve got it but haven’t had a chance to play it yet.) Also they’ve already made Winter Stars for Kinect so I’m confident this will be good too. Here’s an excerpt from the Winter Stars review if you’re worried about the Kinect controls:

“The Controls

Luckily, someone made sure the controls work right and they work very
well. I had no issues with anything. The only thing that is more of
annoyance is an issue is when doing tricks and putting the roof over my
head, at times, a message will pop up saying move away from Kinect and
I’m already 6 feet away so I’m not sure what it’s all about. But the
controls work very well to play this game, I mentioned previously how
some of them could have been enhanced but agreed with what was done. The
precision needed for the 2 accuracy events (curling and biathlon) is
spot on as well, as you can tell from the videos you can barely move and
it makes a difference. You are also able to skip all introductions and
movie sequences by raising your hand for those that don’t like to watch
anything and get right to the action. This was just a well thought out
game overall.”

Dead island is one of those controversial games… it’s not bad but at the same time it didn’t live up to the hype for many (including myself) . Why im such a sceptic about this title is because so many other companies tried to make good sport games for kinect but it seems as if only rare can make the magic… I really need to see some gameplay on this one. Hopefully i get proven wrong.
