We’ve got a bit of info about the upcoming Halo remake: “Halo: Anniversary” as both the pre-order bonuses were revealed and Microsoft revealed a tiny bit more about the Kinect features. So if you are at all interested in this remake of Halo (and I can’t imagine you aren’t if you played the original) then read on for the info!
Halo Anniversary and Kinect
For now it is unclear as to what the Kinect features of Halo: Anniversary will be. Microsoft did indicate that the core gameplay will not be affected by the Kinect support:
The Kinect features we’re exploring with ‘Halo: Anniversary’ are additive and will not affect the core gameplay experience or alter our mission of delivering a faithful recreation of the original game.
This could mean that Kinect will be incorporated into the core gameplay as an optional feature, or just like with Harry Potter, Kinect will only be supported in a series of mini-games. Microsoft does indicate they are still ‘exploring’ Kinect’s features, so I’m not really sure if Microsoft itself even knows how they are going to implement Kinect.
Halo Anniversary pre-order bonus
Those who are excited enough about this version of Halo and pre-order it will receive two digital items:
- The signature Halo Master Chief green armor suit to pimp up your Avatar
- The “Grunt Funeral Skull”, an in game weapon that will cause Grunt’s methane tanks to explode
