I think you are confusing my position. My kinect and my screen are perfectly parallel. I could see there being a problem if the kinect was at one angle and you were at another angle to face the screen. However, the kinect doesn't know where your screen is, so that doesn't matter. Why they say to put it in the middle is because it is the optimum place to have the kinect because you will always be perfectly facing the kinect. It's not like my screen is at 0 degrees and my kinect is at a 55 degree angle. They are both the same 0 degree angle, so there is no orientation issue. Check out the link the Legreffer posted to see what I'm talking about. The kinect doesn't look at us from the side or another weird angle, it is head on. The only angle is that the kinect points down toward us.

oh okay beacause i thought i saw a picture it shows the kinect on the cieling and the screen to the right of it.

If you look at that picture, it's a profile view of the kinect showing the angle pointed toward the floor. If you look at the picture showing the projection on the wall, it's pretty clear that the kinect and the screen are on parallel planes.
