Kung Fu Panda 2 Kinect "Clearly for a younger audience"
GameSpot were able to preview an early version of Xbox 360 Kinect's Kung Fu Panda 2 that is close to being released. Even though the preview isn't that extended or deep, it still gives you an idea on whether this Kinect game is for you or not.
Kinect only?
The Xbox 360 version of the game that we saw was playable only with the Kinect's motion-sensing camera and included a range of mini games. We picked a fighting game called Free Fight, and before we got into the fray, we first needed to navigate the menus--simple enough.
Notice the 'that we saw', so it is not yet definitive that this game will be Kinect only, but it is expected as most games by THQ have been Kinect only. It's good to know the menu's are working like they should though, as it can be frustrating when they don't get the basics of navigation right.
Difficulty
Despite outnumbering us considerably, we were only ever prompted to fight a single gator at a time. Even at the highest difficulty, we didn't find the game particularly challenging as we palmed off attackers, though it's clear that the game is being targeted at a younger audience.
This is kind of a let down if you were having high hopes on doing awesome martial arts move, and be only then able to defeat the most difficult of opponents. Even though difficulty is not the only thing making or breaking the fun in a game, it is still kind of a let down in my book.
Summarized
From our brief look at the game, Kung Fu Panda 2: The Video Game seems like it could be a fun minigame compilation for younger gamers based on the popular panda franchise.
So, the control scheme, the world and the difficulty levels all point towards this. But, that isn't much of a surprise now then is it? Well, after Viva PiƱata and a few other games for kids, it seems that the entire Xbox 360 has become more family friendly with Kinect: which is great for families looking to enjoy the Xbox 360. Yes dads out there, you are still allowed to play Gears of War III on the beast that is the Xbox 360 as well.

Kung Fu Panda launches 24th of may for the US and 10th of June for Europe/UK. Either way, feel free to reserve your copy here. Want more on this game? Check the news we gather on it, right here.
